Java Management Extensions (Jmx) is an API that is used to manage various resources such as applications, devices, services and courses. Developed through the Java Community Process (JCP), JMX technology was built as Java specification Request 3.

JMX provides technology with remote access, so an application can be managed from a remote machine. Uses of JMX are huge and include the following:

Changing the application configuration or simply checking for an existing configuration (useful when we are working with a remote machine)
To remove and submit data used in statistical analysis of resource use or in application behavior monitoring
Notifications about state changes or detected errors
JVM resources are managed by a series of Java objects called Managed Beans or simply MBNs these beams are registered in a managed object server (MBN server) This server can run on most devices enabled for the Java programming language and A JMX agent works as a management agent, which is what we use to manage tools. An agent does not interfere with an MBN server (in place of MBN registration) and services that provide tools to handle MBAs, management infrastructure does not interfere with the methods of resources, and vice versa, regardless of the resources, regardless of the implementation of their management applications. Can be managed.

JMX technology is a standard and flexible way to implement Java Agent, Java Code Tool, Building Management Application and Managing Middleware JMX Connectors is a link that allows programmers to access JMX agents from remote applications. JMX connectors provide the same management interface, even if they use the communication protocol, so a management application can manage resources without managing the communication protocol, without transparent management.

Jmx architecture
JMX technology has been defined by two specifications, Java Specification Request 3 and Java Specification Request 160, both developed through Java Community Process. You can think of the architecture as the following 3 levels:

Instrumentation: Resources are used through management beans, which expose their management interface through a JMX agent.
Agent: This main component is the MBean Server provides a set of services used to handle an agent MBIN and is a component that directly controls the resources and creates available resources for remote management.
Remote Management: A JMX agent can be accessed from outside JVM, through protocol adapters and standard connector.
Managing resources through JMX technology Resources in the Java programming language are first required. This means that it is necessary to use Java MBNs to implement access to resource instrumentation. The standardized way of JMX makes it easy for complex developers to create handy applications without knowing and understanding complex management systems.

Although there is no requirement, JMX agents usually live as a managed application on the same machine. It is not known about resources because this tool is used. Any resource that respects the JMX specification can use any JMX agent that provides services that require resources. Similarly, the JMX agent should be aware of the management application that accesses it. It ensures a high level of independence between components.

There are several ways to reach Jmx API Instrumentation. Access through existing protocols such as SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), or Proprietary Protocol, can be provided through connection protocol adapters and connectors on which MBNs servers depend on and JMX agents are notified outside of JVM Makes accessible from Each adapter provides a view of all the MBAs registered in the MBeans server. All connectors provide the same interface for remote management.

JMX technology is a standardized way of exporting JMX API based on RMI (remote mode inventions), it provides a protocol based on TCP sockets, the JMX messaging protocol (JMXMP). Unfortunately not all implementations of the JMX Remote API are based on the second, TCP-based protocol, for example it is not included in the Java SE platform.
