Animation is the process of making the illusion of movement and the illusion of change through the rapid display of a sequence of images that differ minimally from each other. It is thought that illusion - as in films in general - is based on the phi phenomenon. Animators are artists who specialize in creating animation. The animation can be recorded with analog media, a rotating book, movie film, video tape, digital media, including formats with animated GIF, Flash animation and digital video. To show the animation, you use a digital camera, a computer or a projector along with the new technologies that are produced.

Animation creation methods include the traditional animation creation method and those involving stop motion animation of two- and three-dimensional objects, paper clippings, puppets and clay figures. Images are displayed in rapid succession, usually 24, 25, 30 or 60 frames per second. Computer animation processes that generate animated images with the general term computer generated images (CGI). 3D animation uses computer graphics, while 2D animation is used for style, low bandwidth, and faster real-time rendering.

History

Early examples of attempts to capture the phenomenon of movement in a drawing can still be found in Paleolithic cave paintings, where animals are often represented with multiple legs in overlapping positions, clearly trying to convey the perception of movement. A clay cup uncovered at the 5,200-year-old Shahr-e Sūkhté (Burnt City) site in southeastern Iran describes what could be the world's oldest animation example. The artifact carries five sequential images depicting a Persian desert Ibex jumping to grab the leaves of a tree.

Ancient Chinese records contain several mentions of devices that are said to "give an impression of movement" to human or animal figures, these accounts are not clear and can only refer to the actual movement of the figures through space. They can, of course, refer to Chinese shadow puppets.

In the 19th century, fenakistoscope (1832), zoetrope (1834) and praxinoscope (1877) were introduced. A thaumatrope (1824) is a simple toy with a small disk with different pictures on each side; A bird in a cage and attached to two pieces of ropes. [9] The fenakistoscope was invented simultaneously by the Belgian plateau of Joseph and the Austrian Simon von Stampfer in 1831. The phenakistoscope consists of a disc with a series of images, drawn in the uniform space of the radius around the center of the disc.

John Barnes Linnett patented the first book in 1868 as the cineograph. The common flip book were the first animated devices that produced an illusion of movement from a series of sequential drawings, animation was not developed until the advent of film and filmmaking in the 1890s.

The cinematograph was a projector, printer and camera in a machine that allowed moving images to be successfully displayed on a screen that was invented by the first filmmakers in history, Auguste and Louis Lumière, in 1894. The first animated projection of France, By Charles-Émile Reynaud, [13] who was a French professor of science. Reynaud created the Praxinoscope in 1877 and the Théâtre Optique in December 1888. On October 28, 1892, he projected the first public performance, Pauvre Pierrot, in the Musée Grévin in Paris. This film is also notable as the first known instance of film perforations being used. His films were not photographed, they were drawn directly on the transparent fringe. By 1900, more than 500,000 people had attended these projections.
