DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A MICROCONTROLLER BASED NOTICEBOARD REMOTELY CONTROLLED OVER GSM
INTRODUCTION
In the near future every display is going to be in digital format. The big shops and shopping centers are already using the digital moving displays now. In Railway stations and bus stands everything that is ticket information, platform number etc are also displayed in digital moving display. But in these displays if the message or style is to be changed then the user has to go there and connect the display to PC or laptop and make the changes required.
MOTIVATION
The need for having a fast means of providing information at different locations and to a number of people at a time example in school campuses, large shopping centers, militia bases, hotels, and hospitals where buildings are scattered into a large area in case of hazardous events such as bombs explosion (having prior information of the event) was the main driving factor for my choice of the project.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Most of the digital display notice boards are controlled by users connected directly to the display system.
The directly connected display systems are time consuming.
The directly connected display systems causes difficulties in management when they are distributed at different sites.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
designing and implementing a microcontroller based display system (notice board) which is accessed/controlled remotely through the use of GSM technology.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Having a GSM modem to page link the users’ mobile phones and the micro-controlled display system.
To have a microcontroller for reading and authenticating the message from the modem.
Having a micro controlled display system for displaying the end messages.
