A knuckle joint is a mechanical joint used to connect two rods that are under a tensile load, when there is a requirement for small amount of flexibility, or angular momentum is required. There is always an axial or linear load line.
The joint of the knuckles is a type of mechanical joint used in structures, to connect two cylindrical rods that cross, whose axes are in the same plane. It allows a certain angular movement between the cylindrical rods (in its plane). It is specially designed to withstand tensile loads.
Parts of a knuckle joint:
A typical joint joint has the following parts:
1. End of the fork
2. End of the eye
3. Pin
4. Collar
5. Conical bolt
