E-mail and sms technology is implemented for the fast and reliable procurement of exam results in this project. The mail ID and the mobile number of the candidate is collected by the registration form at the time of the registration of the candidate. When the exam results are near, the candidate can send the details of the exam registration number to the exam centre. Now their exam result will be
automatically provided at their mail box, as well as to their mobile phone as SMS.
BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION
MICROCONTROLLER-The microcontroller used in this project is AVR(ATMEGA8535 ). It is used for the interface details with the GSM modem and the PC. The DTMF decoder IC is connected to it as well as the control of the whole system is taken up by it.
TELEPHONE SYSTEMS
There are two telephone systems: one in the user end and other in the result publishing center. The result publishing center must have a mobile phone whereas the user's mobile phone can be of any type.
The APR9600 speaker IC provides the necessary instructions to the caller. These instructions are stored in the pepmory beforehand. The controller asks the candiadte to dial the registration number.
The SPEAKER feeds the voice responses from the speaker IC to the mouthpiece of the telephone at the result center.
DTMF DECODER: It is used for decoding the keystrokes that are entered by the user. This is the exam registration number in our case.
MAX232: TO interface the PC to the microcontroller serially
GSM MODEM: Used to send the data to the mobile phone of the candidate.
