It is difficult for people to recognize coins from different countries. This system is based on image processing and makes the process automatic and robust. Colour and shape information are used in the algorithm.
There are around 200+ different currencies used in different countries around the world. The currency recognition technology aims to search for and extract visible marks as well as hidden in paper currency for efficient classification. Currency recognition and conversion system is implemented to reduce human power to automatically recognize the monetary value of the currency and convert it into other currencies without human supervision. The software interface we are proposing here could be used for several currencies (we are using four in our project). Often, currency notes are blurred or damaged; Many of them have complex designs to improve safety. This makes the task of currency recognition very difficult. Therefore, it is very important to select the right characteristics and the right algorithm for this purpose. The basic requirements for an algorithm to be considered practically implementable are simplicity, less complexity, high speed and efficiency. Our main objective is to design an easy but efficient algorithm that is useful for the maximum number of coins, since all the currencies have different security characteristics, reason why it is a difficult work to design an algorithm that could be used for the recognition of all The currencies available. Writing different programs for everyone is also a tedious job. The aim of the project is to recognize currencies and not authentication.
