seminar report of nano tree
#1

ontents  About Nano tree  Nanotechnology  Biomimicry  Construction  Operation  Applications  Advantages  Conclusion
3. van der beek, founder of solar botanic lmtd during his train ride to Netherlands he got the idea of generating electricity from something that blends in a fake tree. He places thousands of photovoltaics, piezoelectrics and thermoelectrics on nano leaves which appears like a plastic tree.
4. It is a naturally occuring, inexhaustable resource which are replenished on a human time scale such as sun light, wind, tides etc.
5. What is a nano tree? It is an artificial tree which makes use of renewable energy from sun, wind and which have a means of collecting solar and wind energy . It utilises three different energy generation technologies such as photovoltaic, thermoelectric and piezoelectric.
6. This is emerging form of renewable energy generated by collecting solar and wind energy and converting in to electrical energy. Leaves are distributed through out artificial trees and plants and can supply entire household with maximum efficiency.
7. Biomimicry  Generally artificial trees cannot carry out photosynthesis naturally.  Biomimicry is a developing science attempting to solve human difficulties by adapting and implementing nature's systems to human technology.  This is possible by the use of nature design with synthetic trees, shrubs ,plants and flowers with PV cells.  Biomimicry and Nanoleaf technology are intrinsic to each other.  This is clean and renewable.
8.  It is made up of thermoelectrics, photovoltaics and piezoelectrics on nanoleaves which make it resemble like plastic tree.  It has canopy 20 ft in diameter and 1200 sqft in area.  It contains highly efficient thin film solar cells made of CIGS.  The trunk is primarily made of recycled materials and also contain liquified waste biomass and wood processed via steam combustion.  The shape of the leaf is so as to capture the power of sun, for efficient operation they are dark shade of green.
9. The petiole is incorporated with piezoelectric ribbons so as to react to forces and tension . It is very versatile and easy to install a twig and is weather secured.
10. THERMOVOLTAIC ENERGY CONVERSION: Nanoleaves absorb most of the light and reflects a small part. THERMAL ENERGY: This is captured through the use of thermovoltaic cells which convert thermal energy into electricity by using semi conducting materials.
11. PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY CONVERSION: LIGHT ENERGY: Photovoltaic cells are incorporated in the nanoleaves. These capture light rays emitted by the sun and is then converted into electricity.
12. KINETIC ENERGY: It is harnessed through movement. The movement of wind causes motion in leaves, stems. This motion is collected by piezo voltaic cells. The piezo voltaic cells and the semi conducting devices convert wind energy into electricity. Stronger the wind, more the energy is produced.
13. Office Parking Recreational parks, city parks Electric vehicles Charging Highways Houses Deserts
14. Easy to install Weather resistant Low investment/High return Various sizes No emission of green house gases Triple efficiency
15. ESTIMATED BUDGET AND OUTCOME Possible output - 2000 -12,000KWH Cost of tree - $12,000- $20,000 Life span - About 1,20,000 kwh over 20 years life span  One leaf can produce 1.25V ,100mA and power of 0.125W.
16. Nano trees Normal electricity The typical US family of four would need four trees at about $64000 for 20 years. The same family pays more than $100000 for 20 years.
17. CONCLUSION These super eco friendly synthetic trees will make use of renewable energy from sun , wind which are clean and has wide potential.
