Organisational Structure
IR is a department owned and controlled by the Government of India, the Ministry of Railways
IR is administered by the Railway Board, which has a financial commissioner, five members and a chairman
CONTROL SECTION
CONTROL SECTION IS the most useful department in railway communication..it employes
different types of controls:-
1.Section Control:- the communication between railway sections and control office is called
section control.Example- communication between bikaner and suratgarh section
2.Deputy Section Control:- communication between BIG stations and control office is called
deputy section control. Example- communication between bikaner and jaipur railway station
3.Emergency Control:- Also known as engineering control.its provide communication between
rail crew and nearest control room.in this emergency sockets are used.these sockets are connected
With railway post which are already placed on every 1k.m.
4.Ring Control:- the railway stations are connected in ring topology.So every station is
connected from both sides through copper cable and o.f.c. which is hire from BSNL.So in case of
emergency communication doesn’t break.
5.Block control:- communication between two railway station is called block control.
Auto-announcing System
For this purpose P.A. System is used. Public Address Systems for loudspeaker announcements of train arrivals and departures, delays, etc. will often be integrated in the passenger information system where preprogrammed messages are stored on data voice recorders on stations along the railway line.
