An earthquake is a phenomenon that happens without warning and that consists of shaking violently the ground and everything that surrounds it. It is the result of the release of the accumulated tension of the lithosphere movable plates or the crust. The earth's crust is divided into seven main plates, about 50 miles thick, which move slowly and continuously over the interior of the earth and several smaller plates. Earthquakes are of tectonic origin; That is, moving plates are responsible for the appearance of violent jolts. The occurrence of an earthquake in a populated area can cause numerous casualties and injuries, as well as extensive damage to property.
Earthquakes refer to the earthquake. There is continuous activity going under the surface of the earth. There are several large plates (size of continents) below the surface of the earth, which move (at a very slow speed). As part of this movement, they sometimes collide with each other.
