Air pollution occurs when harmful substances, such as particles and biological molecules, are introduced into the Earth's atmosphere. It can cause diseases, allergies or the death of humans; It can also cause damage to other living organisms, such as animals and food crops, and can damage the natural or built environment. Human activity and natural processes can generate air pollution.

Indoor air pollution and poor urban air quality are among the worst two problems of toxic pollution in the world in The Worst Places Contaminated report of the World's Worst Institute 2008. According to the 2014 report of the World Health Organization , air pollution in 2012 caused the death of around 7 million people worldwide, an estimate roughly similar to that of the International Energy Agency.

Pollution is now a commonplace term which our ears are tuned to. We hear about the various forms of pollution and read about it through the media. Air pollution is one of those ways that refers to air pollution, regardless of whether it is inside or outside the home. A physical, biological or chemical alteration of the air in the atmosphere can be called pollution. It occurs when harmful gases, dust and smoke enter the atmosphere and hinder the survival of plants, animals and humans as the air becomes dirty.

Air pollution can also be classified into two sections: visible air pollution and invisible air pollution. Another way to see air pollution could be any substance that has the potential to hinder the atmosphere or the well-being of the living beings that survive in it. The sustaining of all living things is due to a combination of gases that collectively form the atmosphere; The imbalance caused by the increase or decrease in the percentage of these gases can be detrimental to survival.

Causes of air pollution
1. Burning of fossil fuels: Sulfur dioxide emitted from the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and other factory fuels is one of the main causes of air pollution. The pollution that it emits from vehicles, including trucks, jeeps, cars, trains and airplanes, causes an immense amount of pollution. We rely on them to meet our basic daily transportation needs. But, excessive use is killing our environment because dangerous gases are polluting the environment. Carbon monoxide caused by inadequate or incomplete combustion and generally emitted by vehicles is another important pollutant along with nitrogen oxides, which is produced from both natural and artificial processes.

2. Agricultural activities: ammonia is a very common product for activities related to agriculture and is one of the most dangerous gases in the atmosphere. The use of insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural activities has grown considerably. They emit harmful chemicals in the air and can also cause water pollution.

3. Escape from factories and industries: manufacturing industries release large amounts of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, organic compounds and chemicals into the air, which depletes air quality. Manufacturing industries can be found in every corner of the earth and there is no area that has not been affected by it. Oil refineries also release hydrocarbons and various other chemicals that pollute the air and also cause land pollution.

4. Mining operations: mining is a process in which minerals under the earth are extracted using large equipment. During the process, dust and chemicals are released into the air and cause massive air pollution. This is one of the reasons that explains the deterioration of the health conditions of workers and nearby residents.

5. Indoor air pollution: Household cleaning products, paint supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution.

Suspended particles popular for their acronym SPM, are another cause of contamination. With respect to particles afloat in the air, SPM is usually caused by dust, combustion, etc.
