A CMS is used in a variety of sectors dealing with information or content exchange or retrieval through World Wide Web. A content management system enables to build server components and powerful online applications. CMS keeps track of every piece of content on your website, Similar to local public libraries keeping track of books and storing them. Contents can be simple text, photos, music, videos, documents,or just about anything you can think of.A major advantage of CMS is that it requires almost no technical knowledge or skill to manage. Softwares used for building this project are JDK 5.0, Apache Tomcat Server, Dreamweaver, SQL 2000 Server.Using these softwares the project press ‘n’ pick is developed enabling the three types of users to perform their operations sitting on different systems located at different destinations.
A content management system (CMS) is the collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual or computer-based. The procedures are designed to do the following:
1.Allow for a large number of people to contribute to and share stored data,2.Control access to data, based on user roles (defining which information users or user groups can view, edit, publish, etc.) ,3.Aid in easy storage and retrieval of data 4.Reduce repetitive duplicate input 5.Improve the ease of report writing 6.Improve communication between users

In a CMS, data can be defined as nearly anything: documents, movies, pictures, phone numbers, scientific data, and so forth. CMSs are frequently used for storing, controlling, revising, semantically enriching, and publishing documentation. Serving as a central repository, the CMS increases the version level of new updates to an already existing file. Version control is one of the primary advantages of a CMS.
The development in science and technology are so rapid that the development and existence of mankind is depend on the implementation of scientific knowledge. No developing countries can move in phase with the time. Under such circumstances computerization techniques takes it role. One of the important area where computerization has bought tremendous changes is in the field of information retrieval. As a result of which the existing system has been simplified & more customer friendly.
The project entitled “press ‘n’ pick” aims at developing an online application which would implement as a tool for editors to design online newspapers having various sections providing news related information to the users according to the design and features which they want to implement in their e-newspaper.
There are basically three users for the application – the administrator, the content editor and the end user. Administrator play the role of total control of the news paper by editing and approving various contents by editors. Editors make different news contents and send them for approval with adminstrator. Users are the generals users which uses the benefit of the project such as reading latest news and giving comments.
In the existing system the content management system aims at creating files and saving them on the hard disk, then allowing the user to open, edit,or delete the contents created or even display the contents onto a web page.A content management system like zoomla helps the user to place the created contents on the web page at desirable position with the desirable features. There is one exisiting content management system for news papers named “ Drupal ” that is more complex to use and need payments. The proposed system we emulate a subsystem similar to the mainstream system with additional features. The system is interactive and user friendly. All the process are done swiftly and corresponding responses are obtained instantly. The proposed system is aimed at creating a content management system specifically aimed at creating newspaper contents for a newspaper website with all the features of a content management system like editing, saving and deleting of contents. The tool creates web pages for the site which can be viewed by the users who can even search for any content being published previously on the website.
Creative Content Management System - CMS is a fast, flexible, web based SEO friendly Content Management System. You do not need special skills to use Creative Content Management System - CMS. Even a layman can edit his website with Creative CMS. A Web Publishing CMS allows non-technical authors and editors to easily and quickly publish their content which is otherwise done by technical programmers. The web published content can also be distributed to customers and business partners outside the organization. The core application of the CMS is to manages content during its entire lifecycle i.e. from creation through publishing. The content of the CMS can also be shared by e-commerce and customer relationship management systems (CRM). Web Publishing system enables you to establish a consistent look and feel throughout your site, but gives your non-technical content authors the power to publish and update their own content using simple, but powerful, browser-based tools. Some of the CMS systems integrate with content delivery applications to deliver the content via a web site.
There are three basic participants in the web publishing CMS system:
• Content Editors (Decide what content to publish and where)
• Content Publishers (Publish the content on the web)
• Content Authors (Create the content for the web)
