Prakruthi connects its activities to private market players, which includes local and international companies, and encourages them to invest in the bottom of supply chain to assure better market access for farmer groups. In this way, we have been successful in increasing the productivity and income at farm level, and connect farmers to markets.


Factories
Prakruthi is active in the garment sector to ensure that the supply chain of garment production is sustainable through a multi-stakeholder approach. We have been successful in creating multi-stakeholder groups in the major garment manufacturing hubs to facilitate the improvement of the working conditions, labour rights and environmental compliance.


Organisation

Prakruthi has various offices in India and a support office in the UK. The organisation has staff strength of about 30 professional and subject matter experts and regularly hires consultants for theme specific activities. Prakruthi has a very good knowledge base in sustainability issues with community based research and studies. It cooperates with many national and international NGOs, certification agencies, companies and other non-state actors in promoting its CSR based sustainability agenda.


Nature, in the broadest sense, is the natural, physical, or material world or universe. "Nature" can refer to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general. The study of nature is a large part of science. Although humans are part of nature, human activity is often understood as a separate category from other natural phenomena.

The word nature is derived from the Latin word natura, or "essential qualities, innate disposition", and in ancient times, literally meant "birth".[1] Natura is a Latin translation of the Greek word physis (φύσις), which originally related to the intrinsic characteristics that plants, animals, and other features of the world develop of their own accord.[2][3] The concept of nature as a whole, the physical universe, is one of several expansions of the original notion; it began with certain core applications of the word φύσις by pre-Socratic philosophers, and has steadily gained currency ever since. This more traditional concept of natural things which can still be found today implies a distinction between the natural and the artificial, with the artificial being understood as that which has been brought into being by a human consciousness or a human mind. Depending on the particular context, the term "natural" might also be distinguished from the unnatural or the supernatural.
