UPSRTC workshop, Lucknow

1. UTTAR PRADESH STATE ROAD TRANSPORT CORPORATION (UPSRTC), LUCKNOW

Abstract:
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is a public passenger transport corporation located in Uttar Pradesh, India that operates in the hinterland and in the interstate bus service and U.P.S.R.T.C. Headquartered in Lucknow and has 20 regions operating out of 116 deposits. UPSRTC operates a fleet of about 10,000 buses mainly manufactured by Ashok Leyland. Some TATA and Volvo buses

2. INTRODUCTION
• Passenger transport services in the U.P. Started on May 15, 1947
• 'The first route is from LUCKNOW - BARABANKI'
• There are around 7668 buses in operation
• Operate more than 2.5 million kilometers
• More than 1.3 million people traveling every day
• UPSRTC profit of Rs.38.3 million daily

3. LUCKNOW WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
• Heavy maintenance and repair of vehicles
• Reconditioning of the main assemblies
• Bus renewal
• Body construction in new chassis
• Tire retreading

4. WORKSHOPS AVAILABLE
• Central workshops in Kanpur
• Central Workshop, Rawatpur
. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Workshop, Allen Forest
• The section of cars is established in Lucknow.

5. ENGINE SECTION
• Study on diesel engine
• Diesel engine components
• Diesel engine work

6. DIESEL ENGINE
• The engine was developed by the German inventor Rudolf Diesel in 1893.
• The engine runs according to the diesel cycle principle
• A diesel engine is an internal combustion engine.
• Uses the compression heat to start the ignition to burn the fuel that has been injected into the combustion chamber.

7. DIESEL ENGINE COMPONENTS
• Cylinder block • Gasket • Manifold: inlet and outlet • Turbocharger • Steering wheel • Piston • Piston rings • Connecting rod • Crankshaft • Camshaft • Fuel injector • Valves

8. CYLINDER
• It is the basic structure of an engine. • Normally made of ALUMINUM ALLOYS or CAST IRON. • Provides strength with a relatively simple design. • Support and align internal parts.

9. GASKETS
• Serves as a sealant between the engine block and the head where they are screwed.

10. INLET TUBE
• Pipe system that supplies incoming air to the cylinder. • They consist of molten metal, plastic or composite materials. • On SI motor fuel added to the air in the intake manifold

11. OUTLET MANIFOLD
• Piping system that carries the exhaust gases out of the system. • Composite of IRON OF FOUNDRY.

12. TURBO CHARGER
• Turbine compressor used to compress incoming air into the engine. • The turbine is driven by the exhaust flow of the engine, so it requires very little useful engine work.

13. FLYWHEEL
• To store energy, provide power when needed and store it. • firmly screwed to the crankcase

14. PISTON
• A mass of cylindrical shape that reciprocates forward and backward in the transmission force from the cylinder to the crankshaft. • The top of the piston is called CROWN and the sides are called SKIRT. • PISTON is made of cast iron, steel or aluminum.

15. PISTON RINGS
• Metal ring that is fixed in a circumferential groove around the piston. • Made of highly polished chrome steel • Makes a seal between the piston and cylinder walls. • Also used for lubrication purposes.

16. CONNECTION VALVE
• Rod that connects the piston to the rotating crankshaft. • Provided the piston contact to the crankshaft. • Normally made in STEEL or ALLOY FORGED but in small engine can be ALUMINUM.

17. CRANKSHAFT
• Rotational axis through which the motor output output is supplied to the system. • Most of forged steel or cast iron. • It is fixed with the engine block by the MAIN BEARING. • Have crank weights attached with crankshaft

18. CAMSHAFT
• Rotating shaft used to push the valves at the right time in the engine cycle. • Can be hydraulic or mechanical control. • The modern engine has more than two cams

19. FUEL INJECTOR
• A pressurized nozzle that sprays the fuel into the incoming air in the SI engine. • The injector sprays directly into the combustion chamber. • It is placed in the center of the combustion chamber.

20. VALVES
• Used to allow flow into and out of the cylinder at the right time in the cycle. • The VALVES are forged steel. • The two-stroke engine has no valves that have a port system (groove).
