Verification of dynamic signatures by means of pattern recognition The project deals with the creation of knowledge bases where sample signatures and twenty-five pixel codes are stored for characters and numbers.

The second and third phase involves character recognition (using perceptron and BPN) and number recognition (using perceptron and seven segments) in which the user is prompted to enter twenty-five pixel codes for each character or number. The output is the recognized character or the input number. The final phase of the project deals with the verification of the signature. Files that contain signatures are given as entries. They are compared and the result is generated.

The purpose of the proposed system is to recognize any alphanumeric character. Here the alpha numbers are represented as patterns. The secondary objective of this system is the Signature Verification using the Sobel Edge Detection algorithm. This system can be used in many applications where they maintain computer coding sheets and accept user input such as entrance exams, banking, etc.

The system helps users recognize characters and numbers written by hand. It also allows users to compare two signatures. Twenty-five pixel values are entered for each character or handwritten number in the system where each value is zero or one (binary inputs). In perceptron, the input is compared to the stored values and the output of the activation function is displayed. In BPN, the input is used to train the network. The generated result is compared to the stored result and the output is displayed. Sample signatures are analyzed and stored as a JPG file. The input signature is scanned and stored as a JPG file. The signatures are compared and the results are shown.
