Hello sir,
This is mayank patel.
I am currently working on APFC project. i am going to design APFC panal for small industrial application. For the same i required some basic information on APFC. Request you to please help me out.
Thanks,

The power factor is defined as the ratio of actual power to apparent power. This definition is often represented mathematically as KW / KVA, where the numerator is the active (actual) power and the denominator is the power (active + reactive) or apparent.
The reactive power is the non-operative power generated by the magnetic and inductive loads, to generate the magnetic flux. The increase in the reactive power increases the apparent power, so the power factor also decreases. With a low power factor, the industry needs more energy to meet its demand, so efficiency decreases.
In this proposed system, the time delay between the zero voltage pulse and the zero current pulse properly generated by suitable operating amplifier circuits in comparator mode is fed to two interrupt pins of the microcontroller. Displays the time interval between current and voltage on an LCD.
