Nanotechnology, as a whole, continues to be an emerging area with the need to advance both in scientific and technological terms before there can be a huge commercialization of products.Nanotechnology is the science of the manipulation and characterization of matter at the atomic and molecular level (at the level below 100 nm). It is one of the most exciting fields of science, involving a multitude of scientific and engineering disciplines, with widespread applications in electronics, advanced materials from the chemical industry, medicine, IT.
The Greek prefix nano (dwarf) refers to dimensions that are one hundredth smaller than the current components in the micrometer range. In a figurative sense, a nano element is compared to a football like soccer with the size of the earth. Nanotechnology is the capacity of synthesis, manipulation and characterization of matter at the level below 100 nm. The applications of nanotechnology are tremendous. This seminar highlights the commercial applications of Nanotechnology in the chemical industry, including the production of new catalysts, coatings, filtration technologies and other final products, as well as the materials on which these products are based, such as dendrimers.
