Pneumatic emergency brake application valve
This describes a a pneumatic brake valve and electrical switch arrangement In emergency brake application the emergency brake valve is moved to its full operating position manually which effectively results in exhausting the air in the brake pipe to atmosphere at an emergency rate.it is desirable to continuously monitor the condition of pneumatic devices and to communicate this information to the brake and cab control computers in electronic emergency braking systems. the microprocessor is unaware of an emergency brake application manually by adjusting the emergency brake valve. This device provides an emergency brake valve having an electrical switch for signaling an emergency brake application.It also provides a manually operable pneumatic emergency brake application valve which actuates an electrical switch. The position of the manually operable pneumatic emergency brake valve is monitored by electrical switch. pneumatic emergency brake valve and an electric subminiature switch are combined when an emergency braking is initiated. It provides an improved emergency brake valve and a microswitch.

DESCRIPTION
the emergency brake valve includes a valve body 1 having a female threaded inlet 2 and a female threaded outlet 3. The body includes a pair of spaced apart stanchions which are pivotally connected to stanchions. the intermediate portion of the inner pivotal leve includes a recess which receives the exposed endof a valve stem . A microswitch or ultra-subminiature electric switch is suitably mounted in chamber. The electricswitch may be a sealed multicontact snap-action switch which includes a roller lever actuator which may be hard wired to the appropriate inputs of the microprocessor or computer of the electro-pneumatic brake control system.
