Passive infrared sensor also known as PIR sensors is able to detect movement or movement within a certain range. This type of sensors has a wide range of applications in our daily lives and it is essential to learn the interface method. This article is going to show the interface of the PIR motion sensor with the AVR microcontroller.
PIR SENSOR APPLICATIONS:
It allows to see some of the common applications of the sensor PIR for a better understanding.

4. Parking lots
PIR SENSOR:

The PIR sensor detects only bodies (hot materials and living objects) in non-static movements. This sensor uses the infrared beam to detect motion and only covers a certain space based on the sensor model, I advise you to refer to the manufacturer's datasheet for the range. This sensor module provides only two output states which is Logic High 1 which is equivalent to 3.3 V and logic 0 low equivalent to 0 V.
