Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology publishes original manuscripts, ie quick technical notes, reviews and comments that provide information on the synthesis, characterization and pharmaceutical (or diagnostic) application of nanometer-scale materials. The nanoscale is defined as a size range below 1 μm. Scientific findings related to micro and macro systems with functionality residing within defined nanoscale characteristics are also within the scope of the journal. Manuscripts detailing synthesis, comprehensive characterization, biological evaluation, clinical testing and / or toxicological evaluation of nanomaterials are of particular interest to the journal's readers. Articles should be autonomous, centered around a well-founded hypothesis and should aim to show the pharmaceutical / diagnostic implications of the nanotechnology approach. Manuscripts should aim, whenever possible, to demonstrate the in vivo impact of any nanotechnology intervention. As the reduction of a material at the nanoscale is capable of fundamentally altering the properties of the material, the reader of the journal is particularly interested in new characterization techniques and the advanced properties that originate from this reduction in size. The upward and downward approaches to the realization of nanomaterials are within the scope of the journal.
