VOTING USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

The basic problem that is being faced in electoral voting system is the lack of management and decentralized procedures. Anyone by illegal means can manipulate, theft, change or destroy the ballot boxes containing public votes. Such nuisances pose a big threat to the voting system, to the public and to the nation. There is a nee d of proper check and security to avoid such circumstances.

We have a centralized server of all database of people maintained in region wise directories. They contain information such as name and details, identification number (unique), and the biometric information of their thumb print (being unique). And a centralized administrator manages it by updation, deletion, querying; i.e. a registration process as a citizen of India.

The project helps to device an online voting system so that it is easily reachable for all. The authentication is provided for the identity using biometric finger print method. All this is done in Visual Studio .NET software. Also we have an administrator that handles the registration part

Our main goal is to design a unique and dependable system to avoid the originating flaws of voting systems. We are using VB.net for administrators to handle the registration procedures. Then for end users to vote through internet we are implementing it in ASP.NET. Thus our objective lies in to minimize the manual effort, provide a performance oriented system and to facilitate the basic needs to be fulfilled.
