Homeopaths select homeopaths by consulting reference books known as repertoires, and considering the totality of the patient's symptoms, personal traits, physical and psychological status, and life history.

Homeopathy is not a plausible system of treatment, as its dogmas about how drugs, disease, the human body, liquids and solutions work contradict a wide range of discoveries in biology, psychology, physics and chemistry carried out in the two centuries since his invention. Although some clinical trials produce positive results, multiple systematic reviews have indicated that this is due to possibility, defective research methods and informational bias. Continued homeopathic practice, despite evidence that it does not work, has been criticized as unethical because it discourages effective treatments, and the World Health Organization warns against using homeopathy to treat serious diseases such as HIV and malaria. The continued practice of homeopathy, despite the lack of evidence of efficacy, has led to the characterization of scientific and medical communities as nonsense, quackery, and a farce.

The evaluations of the Australian National Council of Health and Medical Research, the Committee of Science and Technology of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Academies and the Swiss Federal Office of Health have concluded that homeopathy is ineffective and recommended against practice. any other financing.
