INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT
On February 20, 2015, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an industrial visit to eighty students of the sixth semester B.E., who were accompanied by five of the faculties of the department. The visit was to the ISRO, located in Trivandrum, Kerala. The Indian Space Research Organization, formed in 1969, replaced the old INCOSPAR. Vikram Sarabhai, having identified the role and importance of space technology in the development of a nation, provided ISRO with the necessary leadership to function as a development agent. Over the years, ISRO has maintained its mission of bringing space to the service of the common man, at the service of the Nation. In the process, it has become one of the six largest space agencies in the world. ISRO maintains one of the largest satellites of communications (INSAT) and remote sensing (IRS) satellites, which serve the increasing demand for fast and reliable communications and earth observation, respectively. ISRO develops and delivers specific satellite products and tools for application to La Nación: transmissions, communications, weather forecasting, disaster management tools, Geographic Information Systems, cartography, navigation, telemedicine, satellites dedicated to distance education, among others. To achieve complete self-sufficiency in terms of these applications, it was essential to develop cost-effective and reliable launch systems, which took shape in the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). The famous PSLV became a favorite supplier for satellites in several countries due to its reliability and cost efficiency, promoting an unprecedented international collaboration. The geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV) was developed taking into account the heavier and more demanding geosynchronous communication satellites. In addition to technological capacity, ISRO has also contributed to scientific and scientific education in the country. Several dedicated research centers and autonomous institutions of remote sensing, astronomy and astrophysics, atmospheric sciences and space sciences generally operate under the aegis of the Space Department. ISRO's own lunar and interplanetary missions, along with other scientific projects, promote and promote scientific education, as well as provide valuable data to the scientific community which in turn enriches science.
