There may be a sudden panic situation. It could be due to an intruder entering our home or a poor health in which we can not intimidate the people around us. The situations can be many to panic. In this article we will see how to make the panic alarm help us intimidate others regarding our bad situation without delay.

Panic Alarm Circuit Diagram:

This circuit is made with inexpensive hardware that uses an IC 555 timer, buzzer, some resistors and capacitors. It is made to work reliably since it has easy to use hardware and not as sensitive as 555 timer, ceramic buzzer, capacitors, etc. Although no exclusive arrangement is used to compensate for variable parameters, the circuit is predetermined to be robust and easy to use. It is very easy to use with a single button that will be pressed to handle the panic situation without any problem.

The IC 555 is used in the astable mode with the frequency depending on the values of resistors R2, R3 and C2. The values of R2 = 100k-ohm, R3 = 22k-ohm and C2 = 22uF. Substituting the parameters given in the respective formulas for IC 555 in stable mode, we obtain the following values. The operating frequency of the circuit is given by 0.000455Hz. By finding the time period of the circuit by using the frequency information, we obtain the time period of the circuit as 2.22 seconds. This means that the circuit has an On / Off repeat period of approximately 2.2 seconds.

When analyzing the on and off period of the above panic alarm circuit, we find that the circuit will remain on for about 1.88 seconds and off for about 0.339 seconds.

The circuit is in the disabled mode when the button is not pressed and therefore the alarm will not operate when the button is not pressed. Although the power supply will be supplied to the IC 555 all the time, the circuit will operate in monostable mode only when the IC is enabled. The IC is in the enable mode only when pin 4 of the 555 IC receives a high voltage. This happens only when the button is pressed. The button can be made to have a plastic housing for better visibility and easy access.
