ORGANISATION AS A SYSTEM
Organisation is an identifiable group of people contributing their efforts towards attainment of goals. An organisation begins when people combines their efforts for some common purposes. The organisational objective is considered to be more important in the organisational context. Thus, the individual efforts need to be directed and coordinated towards the organisational objectives. Since the organisation comprises of a combination of individual efforts, it is necessary to understand how the individual behaves in the organisation, how the individual’s efforts are coordinated to the success of the organisation, etc. As part of our curriculum and as a person who should work in the corporate world in the future, it is very essential for us to understand how an organisation works. We can have a better understanding of the working of an organisation through an organisation study conducted in any organisation.
Organisational study is the systematic study and careful application of knowledge about how people - as individuals and as groups - act within organisation. It studies about the various departments in an organisation, how it is connected towards the organisational goal, etc.
