ABSTRACT
The notion ink android is also called as adam tablet or adam . The Adam Tablet is a tablet computer developed by Bangalore-based firm Notion Ink.The Adam is set to be the first device marketed to contain Pixel Qi's low-power, dual-mode display.
The adam features both the Pixel Qi Transflective liquid crystal display in one version and a regular LCD in another. The device will measure 158 (6.2in) (h)239 mm (9.4 in) (w)14 mm (0.55 in) (d) and will weigh 590—635 g .

The unit will come with the Android 2.2 operating system, but should also be able to support Google Chrome OS and Ubuntu softwares.
The inventer Rohan Shravan, an engineering graduate from IIT-KGP and CEO of notion ink provides open source applications which improves the adam's performance. The inventer is very eager to use engineering students of Andhra Pradesh to introduce more applications by giving them some basic training.
This adam is better than the apple ipad in case of technologies and performance. It is going to be released on end of 2010 or at the start of 2011 with estimate amount of $399.
1. WHAT IS NOTION INK?
Notion Ink is an Indian company that designs tablets and other computing products.The company announced their prototype Adam tablet on December 18th 2009.
Notion Ink was founded in May 2009 by Rohan Shravan, an engineering graduate from IIT-KGP with the express purpose of creating the Adam tablet, an Android powered Tablet PC in partnership with nVidia and Pixel Qi.
2. INTRODUCTION OF ADAM
The Adam Tablet is a tablet computer developed by Bangalore-based firm Notion Ink. The US launch is expected in late 2010 or CES 2011.The Adam will run a customized version of the Android operating system. The Adam is set to be the first device marketed to contain Pixel Qi's low-power, dual-mode display. The device is one of several tablet form-factor devices launching in 2010 to include a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor that can support 1080p video output.
3. FEATURES
The Notion Ink Tablet will feature both the Pixel Qi Transflective liquid crystal display in one version and a regular LCD in another, with the screen being 25.7 cm (10.1 in) diagonal with a resolution of 1024 × 600. The dimensions are 158 mm (6.2 in) (h)
239 mm(9.4in) (w) 14 mm (0.55 in) (d) and weighs 590—635 g.

5. SOFTWARE
The unit will come with the Android 2.2 operating system, but should also be able to support Google Chrome OS and Ubuntu. Rather than solely rely upon Google's Android Marketplace, Notion Ink will have their own marketplace for programmers. They have amassed $1 million in prize funds for developers.

a) Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google and is based upon a modified version of the Linux kernel. It was initially developed by Android Inc. (a firm purchased by Google) and later positioned in the Open Handset Alliance.

c) Pixel Qi Corporation(pronounced Pixel "Chi") is an American company involved in the research of low-power computer display technology, based in San Bruno, California
d) NVIDIA Tegra is a system- on-a-chip series developed by NVIDIA for mobile devices such as smartphones, personal digital assistants and mobile internet devices. Each Tegra is a "computer on a chip" which integrates the ARM architecture processor CPU, GPU, northbridge, southbridge and memory controller onto a single package. The series emphasizes low power consumption and high performance for playing video and audio.
e) A transflective liquid crystal display is a liquid crystal display (LCD) that reflects and transmits light (transflective = transmissive + reflective).
