Network Tracker
Network Tracker is an effective network tracking system implemented on
LAN. The purpose of Network Tracker is to determine if a computer
network or server has experienced an unauthorized intrusion. Network
Tracker acts like a burglar alarm for computers.
The LAN comprises of main server, intermediate servers and clients. It
is installed both on the main server and the intermediate servers,
with slightly different functions. Intermediate server software is
responsible for ensuring security in client systems. Even if the inrtermediate
server gets intruded, the main server will detect the corresponding
machine and will take appropriate actions. Afetr checking all client
machines Network Tracker will give a test report for the detection
performed. This helps the adminstrator to set suitable alerts or can forcibly
shutdown the intruded machine. Netwrok tracker maintains a list which
contains a correspondance between the IP addresses, MAc addresses and
host names. Using this information it trackes the current IP of the
clients. Thus it can also detect whether a client has changed the IP address.
Functionalities
Detection of Internet Protocol address for the servers of the network.
That is the clients to the consultant organisation
Appropriate alerts for the detection of certain unwanted file extenion
checking in the servers. If so procedures like remote shu8tdown or it
be maintained
Detection of log files of the antivirus scheduled in clients and
reporting them for necessary actions to be performed according to the
analysis process.
Authentication security for network adminstrator logins an clients
logins should be managed
Client login timings and user tracking stored in data source for
furthur administrator usage
