Mobile Health Monitoring Through Biotelemetry
The risk of chronic disease in the population increases as they age. The healthcare cost also increases. Technology for mobile telemetry could reduce cost and improve the efficiency of treatment.several technical challenges need to be overcome for this. The technical challenges in this field include sufficient system lifetime, high signal fidelity, adequate security. This paper presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a mobile biometric system. This is specially designed to address the remote medical monitoring challenges. The major components are
-a custom low-power sensor node (for collecting and analyzing electrocardiogram (ECG) data),
-a client service with a multifaceted policy engine (for evaluating the data)
-a web portal interface(for ECG data visualization)
A flexible, robust, and precise system communication from end-to-end is provided by the policy engine unlike most other remote monitoring systems implemented so-far. power and transmission frequency tradeoffs are done by it. For example, the transient ECG conditions can be tackled by the policies by making the operation of the hardware and software resilient . There is also a safety layer to protect the data and also defend common attacks.
