Abstract
The project aim at developing a mobile controlled attacking robot. The robot is in the form of a vehicle mounted with a web cam, which acquires and sends video to a PC. The movements of vehicle are controlled by a microcontroller. The transmitter section also contains a microcontroller. Army in spying and in security based applications uses this type of robot.
Introduction
A robot is a software controllable mechanical device that uses sensors to guide one or more end effectors through programmed motions in a workspace in order to manipulate physical objects.
Humans are removed from direct exposure to potentially dangerous situations.
Robotic systems can perform many security and surveillance functions more effectively than humans.
Robots don’t get bored and thereby inattentive during long hours of surveillance.
Robots don't participate in "inside jobs" .
8051 Microcontroller
The Intel 8051 is a single chip microcontroller (µC) which was developed by Intel in 1980 for use in embedded systems. Intel's original versions were popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. Intel's original 8051 family was developed using NMOS (n-type metal-oxide-semiconductor) technology, but later versions, identified by a letter C in their name (e.g., 80C51) used CMOS (Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor) technology. This made them more suitable for battery-powered devices. This feature helped to cement the 8051's popularity in industrial.
