The use of SONAR in a security system, as used in our project, is a novel idea, and as far as we could determine, extremely difficult, if not impossible, to evade. Infrared rays have the disadvantages of covering only a limited area in a room
And to cover an entire room requires many of these beams. This makes this technology very costly. Nor is it infallible and can be evaded by experts as has been so demonstrated in so many Hollywood movies. Temperature sensors can also be circumvented as they can be very sensitive and risk of false alarm shots due to changes in ambient temperature or less sensitive with the risk of allowing evasion. The use of SONAR offers us many advantages. It is almost infallible, albeit at the expense of being extremely sensitive to the point that the only way to avoid triggering the alarm is to make sure that the room you are covering is free of any movement. In this project we have designed and developed a unique security system that uses the capabilities of the microcontroller and a special purpose SONAR module. It is also extremely cost-effective when compared to similar systems currently in use.
Home automation is a process to improve the quality of life of residents by providing a flexible, comfortable and safe environment. The home security system is the most prominent feature for home automation. Traditional alarm-based security techniques have gained much popularity in past decades. Today, the integrated system is designed to provide security due to the enormous improvement in the microcontroller unit and the generalized applications of GSM technology. In the literature, the researchers suggested a series of security systems based on new technologies such as GSM, GPRS (General Service Packet Radio), Internet, USN (Ubiquitous Sensors Network) and implemented through Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) ), DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and MCU (Microcontroller Unit). In the home automation system it has been explained using FPGA, GSM, Internet and voice recognition. In this system, the home entrance door is Internet that requires personal computer (PC). However, it is difficult to manage PC and keep it on all the time it also consumes more power. The system presented is an intelligent Internet-based system for the management of domestic energy with the aim of reducing energy consumption. This system also uses the Internet cloud as a home gateway that has the same limitations described above. Java describes a Java-based home automation system. Although the research proposes an integrated home server, but still requires Internet connectivity for GPRS. In authors they proposed a zigbee-based home network configuration that controlled all appliances through the zigbee-infrared combination and the zigbee power adapter. Lee et al. In the proposal of a wireless network protocol that provides a bidirectional communication channel between a gateway and the control device, highlighting the importance of the wireless sensor network in the control of electrical appliances. In PIC18F452 microcontroller-based home security system has been designed without GSM technology. In this article, the security system based on ATMEGA16 microcontrollers with GSM technology has been described. In addition, the Bluetooth application has been used to control the system. Consequently, the proposed system provides reliable security at a reasonable cost and also eliminates the complexity of the circuit.
