Challenges associated with bridge construction in mountainous areas of India are considered, focusing on bridges across stone-bedded rivers, bridges through deep gorges, bridges in areas with extreme temperatures and strong winds, and curved bridges Horizontal and vertical. The experience of the Border Road Organization in the construction of bridges in mountainous areas is outlined. The company usually uses pre-stressed concrete composite construction. The following bridge construction projects are described: Akhnoor Bridge over Chenab River, Passighat Bridge over Siang River and Lohit Bridge over Lohit River. Photographs of special features of the main bridges built by Border Roads Organization are included. The direction of the construction of bridges by the organization of the roads of the border is outlined.
