Mechanical vibration is defined as the measurement of a periodic process of oscillations with respect to a point of equilibrium. This book should provide essential concepts related to vibration analysis, uncertainty modeling and vibration control. It should also provide a good fundamental basis in computational results, mathematical modeling and performance evaluation of different systems and system components. Attention will be paid to vibratory systems, such as beams, ropes, plates and membranes, vibration isolation, critical speeds, the balance of the rotating and reciprocal machinery. The basic principles of control theory will be presented from the feedback control systems. Finally, the chapters will include numerous example problems and possibly projects.
