The induction motor experiences various types of electrical failures such as over / under voltage, overload, phase reversal, unbalanced voltage, single phasing and ground fault. Due to these electrical faults, the motor windings overheat, which leads to insulation failure and, therefore, reduces the life of the motor. In order to analyze the behavior of the induction motor during electric failures, the induction motor is modeled using the arbitrary theory of the reference frame in the MATLAB / Simulink environment; Faults are created and the variation of induction motor parameters in faulty conditions is observed. Based on the analysis, the built-in controller is developed to protect the engine from incipient faults.
