The production tools include machine tools and other related equipment and their accessories and tools. Machine tools are non-portable and power manufacturing machines and are used to perform specific operations on man-made materials to produce durable goods or components. Related technologies include Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM), as well as assembling and testing systems to create a final product or subassembly.
The topic of manufacturing technology is very broad and includes various types of machine tools needed for the manufacture of finished products ranging from simple hand tools, lathe machines, grinders, milling machines to highly versatile and complicated computer numerical control or CNC machines and so on . Of course it also involves several different manufacturing techniques that may be subject to different discussion details and some of them include casting, forging, alloying, welding, soldering, brazing, etc. Each of these techniques have their own advantages and limitations And are a specialized field of knowledge in its own right.
