The Haridwar plant caters heavily to Mahindra and Mahindra for three-wheeled cargo which, by the way, have been doing brisk business. Plans are underway to launch four small wheels with the same freight transport function on the Tata Ace lines.

Ability to rise to 50,000 three-wheeled vehicles a year.

Driven by the success of Bolero, Mahindra & Mahindra has started using its new Haridwar plant in Uttarakhand as the second production base of this utility vehicle along with Nashik.

The rejuvenated, sexist Scorpio has also been well received and is expected to do a steady business of 3,000 odd and odd units every month through the prosecutor. Against this backdrop, it only makes sense to use the Haridwar installation for the Bolero, although it is believed that the numbers are "pretty modest" at around 1,000 units a month.

The plant is the company's fifth full-scale automotive plant, built with a total investment of Rs 70 crore, which also includes Neel Metal Product Ltd, created exclusively for M & M to supply cabins, cargo bodies and other sub-assemblies and Aggregates.
