LEAN IMPLEMENTION IN FINISHING LINE
In the global competitive environment, that there is a need to improve the delivery of products and services to compete in the market and to satisfy the huge expectations of customer. Though many efforts have been devoted in the past to improve the delivery products and services to maintain the higher level of customer satisfaction through many system improvement techniques and methodologies which were introduced by various Quality veterans all over the world, implementing Total Quality Management in the organization has accepted universally as the best way to achieve the Customer satisfaction. However many of the organisation which has started this journey has not successful since there are no international standards or guidelines are laid down for implementing Total Quality Management.
Hence an Attempt has been made as a part of this thesis work to understand the Quality
Many guidelines have been developed in the past around the world to implement effective Quality system, most of them however do not last due to poor documentation of the Quality system. Lack of understanding of Quality System requirements, systematic planning and improper implementation of Quality standards is all detrimental to the establishment of effective Quality system.
The quality management system as per ISO 9001:2000 standards will satisfy the Customer requirements, as well as continually improve plant efficiency by reducing rework and scrap cost.
The developed Quality system was implemented successfully implemented in our organization M/s Central Machine Shop (Unit of Eveready Industries India Ltd) and the system is going to be audited by the leading certifying agency M/s TUV and will recommend for ISO 9001:2000(version) Certification.
8.6 ADVANTAGES
From various surveys done in India and other countries, it has come out very clearly that though these standards certainly can not solve all the problems of an organization, yet maximum benefits achieved from their implementation are internal to the organization are internal to the organization.
