The GSM module is used in many communication devices based on the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology. It is used to interact with the GSM network using a computer. The GSM module only understands the AT commands and can respond accordingly. The most basic command is "AT", if GSM responds OK then it is working fine otherwise it responds with "ERROR". There are several AT commands such as ATA to answer a call, ATD to dial a call, AT + CMGR to read the message, AT + CMGS to send the sms, etc. The AT commands must be followed by Carriage return ie (0D in hexadecimal), as "AT + CMGS \ r". We can use the GSM module using these commands.
Interface SIM300 GSM GPRS module with microcontroller 8951 is very easy. It is a very compact serial communication interface. The SIM300 modules offer GSM and GPRS 900/1800 / 1900MHz working frequency for performing voice in the device, SMS, data and other operations. You can make calls with SIM300 Sim Module interfacing 89C51 Microcontroller and develop applications. This SIM300 module is very compact in size and easy to solder on the board which can interface SIM300 with 89C52 microcontroller module using a simple circuit and get geographical location. Comes with the built-in SIM card holder while interfacing with 89S2 MCU, you have to insert the SIM card inside the holder and then try to send the AT command with the 89S51 microcontroller. An external antenna is used to erase the signal state of the device. Simple AT commands and the 8051 microcontroller can be used to develop powerful applications.
