Most electrical engineering was invented in 1925, reduced to practice in 1935, and analyzed mathematically and scientifically understood by 1945. So what makes this book different? Symbolic calculation programs like MATLAB, MuPAD and Mathematica eliminate time consuming calculators and mathematics. Cloud computing at sites like Circuit Lab make simulation possible on a cell phone. This leaves room for more material to be covered at greater depth.
The first and second order differential equations can be solved with the Euler equation (phasors) and the calculation. This solution technique is compared with Laplace transforms. The course is based on the laws of Kirchhoff to write differential equations using transfer functions. The particular solution is reduced to a final condition if the sources are replaced with a unitary step function. All that has to be calculated is the homogeneous step response. Then the response to any source of complex voltage or current can be found through the convolution integral.
