Aim of the Project
To investigate the effects on the alternators when subjected to various types of loads and to minimize obtained harmonics
Overview
Project Objectives

 To determine various parameters under different loading conditions for:
• Laminated rotor alternator
• Solid rotor alternator
Parallel-connected alternators
 To analyze the voltage regulations under these conditions
 To analyze the harmonics obtained in case of non-linear loads and use suitable techniques to minimize these harmonics
Methods and Methodology
 Use of experimental setup in the laboratory
 Digitization of output and use of suitable techniques to minimize harmonics
 Simulation of the experiment using Graphic User Interface in Matlab
Parameters under consideration
 Terminal Voltage
 No-load voltage
 Armature current
 Power factor
