Zeppelin Universität, ZU is a small and selective private research university located on Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The university was founded in 2003 and is known for its avant-garde character as well as a sophisticated selection. Zeppelin University has the legal form of a non-profit, limited liability organization and calls itself "university that bridges business, culture and politics". Thus, the multidisciplinary nature of research and teaching is an integral part of its own image. Its name is due to the general builder and German leader Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, whose foundation is the main financier of the Zeppelin University. The university is accredited nationally by the Academic Council of the Federal Republic of Germany (Wissenschaftsrat). Undergraduate courses are accredited by ACQUIN, a German higher education accreditation agency.
Zeppelin University has two main campuses in Friedrichshafen: One right on the banks of Lake Constance (LakeCampus or SMH) and the next MainCampus (or FAB3), which was built from 2013 to 2015 to create more space for the university Which was growing rapidly. Both campuses are modern, designed by well-known architects, and contain classrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeterias, a library and a wing that is free for students to use. From 2007 to 2008 (until airport closure), Zeppelin University had an additional location in the lobby of the Tempelhof International Airport in Berlin, the so-called Institute for the Art of Swimming in the Air. Since 2011, there is a campus in Berlin again (CapitalCampus). There are several groups of students and projects, such as political groups, Soapbox, financial groups, a cultural club that also organizes a music festival at university (SeeKult), a medical student service, a film crew, several Bands and many more - some of them are even known nationally (eg, RockYourLife). In 2008, the Welle20 student radio station went on the air.
