*First SC/ST woman to pass pre-degree in India

*Total elected members in the Constituent Assembly - 296
*The membership of the Constituent Assembly was reduced to 299 as the members from the Pakistan region left after partition.
*There were 17 women members in die constituent assembly.
*17 Malayalees including 3 women were the members of the Constituent Assembly Out of these seventeen, 9 from Madras, 6 from Travancore arid 1 from Kochi.
*The other one malayalee member was hailed from the United Provinces (now U.P.).
DRAFTING COMMITTEE
*Constituent Assembly was divided into 22 committees. The most important committee in the Constituent Assembly was a seven member Drafting Committee.
*Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the Chairman of the Drafting Committee.
*Drafting Committee was appointed on 29th August 1947.
*The Constituent Assembly was set up as a mere constitution making body . It became a legislative body also in the midnight of 14th August 1947.
*On 17th November 1947, the Constituent Assembly, for the first time, met as the Legislative Assembly. It elected Dr. G.V. Mavlankar as the speaker of the Assembly.
