First cabinent of independent IndiaMount Batten, Governor General of India handed over the power to the first Indian cabinet headed by Prime minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. There were 14 members in the first union ministry of Independent India. Members of the first Cabinet of Independent India took the oath of office on the 15th of August, 1947.
