Qualifications for Vice President
1.He should be a citizen of India.
2.He should have completed the age of 35 years.
3.He should be qualified for election as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
4.He should not hold any other office of profit.
*The nominated members of Parliament also participate in the election of the Vice President eventhough they do not participate in the election of the President.
*The Nomination of a Vice Presidential candidate must be signed by atleast 20 electors as proposers and another 20 electors as seconders.
*The Vice President is elected for a term of 5 years.
*The oath of office to the Vice President is administered by the President.
*In the absence of the President or if the office of the President is vacant, the Vice President acts as the President. However he can act as the President for a maximum period of 6 months, within which a new president shall be elected.
