TERM OF OFFICE
*The President is elected for a term of 5 years.
*He may be elected for any number of terms.
*The President can resign from his office at any time. His resignation letter should be addressed to the Vice President and the Vice President shall immediately proceeds it to the speaker of Lok Sabha
*If any vacancy arises in the‘office of the President a new President shall be elected within 6 months from the date of such vacancy.
* The President cannot be arrested or imprisoned. During his term of office no criminal proceedings can be instituted against him. However, after giving two months advance notice, civil proceedings can be instituted against him for his personal acts.

Powers and Functions of President
*All executive functions of the government of India are formally taken in the name of the President.
