PRESIDENT OF INDIA
*The Union executive consists of the President, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Council of Ministers and the Attorney General of India.
*Article 52 says that there shall be a President of India. The President is the head of the Indian Union.
*Prime Minister is the head of Central Government
*President is the de-jure or constitutional head of the State, while the Prime Minister is the 
*The President is elected not directly by the people, but by an electoral college consisting of:
(a)elected members of both the Houses of Parliament.
(b)elected members of Legislative Assemblies of states, and the Union Territories of Delhi and Puducherry.
*The election is held in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote 
*Nominated members of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies of states have no right to vote in the Presidential election. 
*President is the de-jure or constitutional head of the State while the Prime Minister is the‘defacto’ or real head of the State.
*President is the first citizen of India and the Supreme Commander of the defence forces of India.
*The nomination of a Presidential candidate must be signed by 50 members as proposers and another 50 members as seconders.
*Every candidate has to make a security deposit of Rs. 15000 and this security deposit will be forfeited if he fails to secure 1/6 of the total valid votes polled.
*Election of the President is conducted by the Election Commission of India.
*Any dispute relating to the election of the President and the Vice President is decided by the Supreme Court.
*The President should not be a member of either House of Parliament or the House of State Legislatures. If any such person is elected as the President, he is deemed to have vacated his seat in the House on the date on which he enters upon his office as the president.

Qualifications of President
(1)He should he a citizen of India
(2)He should have completed 35 years of age
(3)He should be qualified to he elected as a member of the Lok Sabha.
(4)He should not hold any other office of profit.
