First Amendment, 1951
*Added the Ninth schedule. Restricted freedom of speech and expression.
Seventh Amendment 1956
*Provided the re-organization of states on linguistic basis.
Ninth Amendment 1960
*Gave effect to transfer of Indian territory of Berubary - Union (West Bengal) to Pakistan following the Indo — Pak agreement 1958,
Fifteenth Amendment 1963
*Increased the retirement age of high court judges from 60 to 62 years.
Twenty First Amendment 1967
*Sindhi was added as the 15th language in the Eight Schedule.
Twenty Fourth Amendment 1971

Thirty Sixth Amendment 1975
*Made Sikkim a full fledged state of Indian Union and Omitted the Tenth Schedule which was added by the Thirty fifth Amendment Act.
Forty Fourth Amendment 1978
*Deleted the Right to Property from the List of Fundamental Rights and made it only a legal right
*Replaced the term ‘internal disturbance’ by ‘armed rebellion’ in respect of National Emergency (Articles-352).
*The term cabinet was inserted in Article 352.
*Provided that the Fundamental Rights guaranteed by Articles 20 and 21 cannot be suspended during a National Emergency.

Fifty Second Amendment 1985
*Popularly known as Anti - Defection Law
*Added Tenth Schedule which deals with the disqualification of members of Parliament and state Legislatures on the ground of defection
