INTRODUCTION¦
AD HOC Network “ a wireless network in which all the nodes are free to move randomly and organize themselves arbitrarily.
Sending along a packet from a source to a destination in an hoc network is a challenging problem.
The main source of the challenges comes from that - no base stations in these networks,- therefore the nodes themselves must also a function as switches ,forwarding packets to their destination while coping with the dynamically changing network topology.
Definition of GPS¦
GPS- Global Positioning System
A constellationâ„¢ of 24 well spaced satellite that orbit the earth and make it possible for people with ground receiver to pinpoint their geographic location.
The location accuracy anywhere from 100 -10 meter from most equipment.
Topology representation¦
The system consists of three segments
Space segment
Control segment
User segment
Space segment¦
Consists of 24 satellites
Placed in orbit
At any time minimum of 6 satellites are in view to users anywhere in the world
Control segment¦
It continously receive satellite control and monitoring the signals
Use the collected information to compute extremely precise satellite orbits.
User segment¦
It consists of receiver, processor and antennas
It allows the users of these devices to receive the GPS satellite broadcast and compute their precise position, velocity and velocity.
Packet from S to D¦
S construct from its location table a representation of the topology of the network.
S locally computes a route to D.
S transmits the packet that includes the route the packet is to follow, to the first node on the computed route to D.
DSR using GPS¦
Source routing is a technique used in wired networks as well as in wireless networks.
It is achieved by source broadcasting a route request packet specifying the intended destination.
Each node maintains a route cache which is checked prior to initiating a route to the destination.

Conclusion¦
Thus by using Global positioning system combined with DSR in the reactive ad hoc networks we can reduce the time.
The reduced delay occurs since the overhead associated with a route discovrey.
