 1. Define subjective brightness and brightness adaptation?

Subjective brightness means intensity preserved by the human visual system.
Adjusting the brightness means that the human visual system can only operate from
Skeptic at the edge of the glow. It can not function in the range simultaneously. Achieves
This variation is large because of changes in its overall intensity.

 2. Define weber relationship
The relationship between the increase in illumination and the background of illumination is called
Weber ratio (ie)? I / i
If the ratio (? I / i) is small, then a small percent change in intensity
(That is to say) good adaptation of brightness.
If the ratio (? I / i) is large, then a large percentage change in intensity
(That is) poor adaptation of the brightness.

 3. What is meant by machband effect?
Machband effect means that the intensity of the bands is constant. Thus
It preserves the pattern of brightness near the limits, these bands are denominated like machband
effect.

 4. What is simultaneous contrast?
The reserved region brightness does not depend on its intensity, but also on its
background. All central squares have the same intensity. However, they appear in view
They become darker as the background becomes lighter.

 5. What is meant by illumination and reflectance?
Illumination is the amount of light from the source incident to the scene. It is represented
As i (x, y). Reflectance is the amount of light reflected by the object in the scene. Is
Represented by r (x, y).

 6. Define sampling and quantification
Sampling means digitizing the coordinate value (x, y).
Quantizing means digitizing the amplitude value.

 7. Find the number of bits needed to store an image of 256 x 256 with 32 levels of gray?
32 levels of gray = 25

= 5 bits
256 * 256 * 5 = 327680 bits.

 8. Write the expression to find the number of bits to store a digital image?
The number of bits needed to store a digital image is
B = M X N X k
When M = N, this equation becomes
B = N = 2k
9. What did you mean by Digital Image Zoom?
The zoom can be seen as excessive sampling. This is the creation of new pixels
Locations and the assignment of gray levels to those new locations.
