IIM Bangalore campus was designed by the famous architect, b. Doshi, and part of the conversation among lay people and professionals alike. Campus destination and pilgrimage for architecture students and practising architects, the architecture of the academic and administrative units is an example. Completed in 1983, the original stone architecture is now complemented by the Greens, just as intended to Dosha BV.
IIMB complex 54000 square meters, built on a 100-acre campus, based on the design of Fatehpur Sikri, lined with Akbar in the 16 century architect, b. Doshi, this vision is achieved by linking a network of corridors, courtyards and exterior spaces that allow for future extensions.
As one of the few Indian architects, well-known and respected at the international level, the Dosha is often as someone who was trained in his craft under Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, in passing, that, while accurate, is attributed his achievements to their personalities, rather than his own talent, design the IIMB overturns the presumption by showing us a very original, creative person who is already in love with architectureas with life and learning.
Yards of Fatehpur Sikri and the gardens of Bangalore have merged in the mind's eye the dosha's. He took over the gardens and put them in the yards, and the vision to "glokal′nogo" the campus was born. Instead of courtyards that are dry and hard, he made green corridors that allow academic exchanges, which will be held outside the school.
The design reflects IIMB arFrom logo which depicts the rays of the rising sun with the motto: "Tejaswi naavadhithamasthu ' (' Let learning to bring enlightenment '), on the draft set of IIMB, light plays a decisive role.
Interaction of walls and doorways, light and shadow, and solids and voids to change the nature of the main building at different times of day and in different seasons.
High corridors sometimes openly; sometimes partly covered with a glazed roof, sometimes only with gazebos, to enhance spatial perception.
The width of the corridors is modulated to provide occasional recreation.
Access to the classrooms and administrative offices is carried out through the corridors.
Design offers students and teachers the ability to see and feel nature even when inside a class.
The central courtyard or a central Pergola gives a person a feeling of being in a place, not an unknown of his inner being.
Courtyards and corridors are susceptible to the Indian context of society and the environment. This is a lesson in rhythm and composition. They show that the Interior must be related to physical appearance, and that life, art and architecture can cooperate chitect exist. perfect sense of scale, proportion and light. The IIMB campus was conceived as a place of residence as the place to ease the process of human interaction.
Design therefore saves energy-human or mechanical, optimizes technology takes innovative construction techniques and using alternative materials.
Three-floor corridors, open rectangles with generous space for greenery, sunlight streaming through the arbours, geometric roofs and rough texture finish are unique features of the glokal′nogo design.
IIMB in design so symbolizes the deep understanding of the past and conveniently with this design also reflects the words of Gandhi, to "open the window, but see that your roof is not blown, check to make sure that the foundations are strong."
The goal, said Doshi, was "to create an atmosphere where you don't see divides and doors" the school with him, not a prison. This is the magic, like the Arabian nights!
