In the current scenario, the world is plagued by accidents that are mainly due to human errors in the trial and therefore thousands of lives are lost. These accidents can be avoided if there is only one mechanism to alert the drivers of oncoming danger. This can be done by monitoring the distance between the nearby cars and alerting the driver whenever the distance is too short. This is the main objective of our work. In this article, we propose the use of Bluetooth technology by which we can check the speed of the car when it approaches dangerously close to any other vehicle in advance, thus saving many lives.
As India sees a sharp increase in the sale of personal vehicles, it witnessed another unfortunate increase in the number of fatalities in road accidents - about 1.05,000 each year, World Health Organization reports in its Report "Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020". By using Bluetooth technology, this number may decrease. Bluetooth is a short-range radio link intended to replace the cable (s) connecting portable and / or fixed electronic devices. The key features are ruggedness, low complexity, low power and low cost. At any given time, Bluetooth devices can communicate with eight other similar devices. Thus, 8 cars with Bluetooth enabled can communicate with each other at a distance of 100 meters. The range depends on the power rating of the product. Power transmission rates vary on many Bluetooth devices depending on the power-saving features available on a particular unit, the bandwidth requirements and the transmission distance. We can use this feature of Bluetooth to avoid accidents, as any car is approaching another distance than specified, the driver will be alarmed by the same and the speed of the car will be reduced only if the speed of the car or any other In the radius of 10 m is more than 40 kmph. If the speed is lower, then the driver will only be indicated on the nearby cars
