There are many chances that the cylinder overheats that could cause damage to the cylinder liner. So as a perfect solution the pneumatic cylinder can be used for the replacement of cylinder block cylinder liners. The pneumatic cylinder extractor is composed of simple arrangement of double-acting cylinder, solenoid valve, handle plate and pneumatic junction box. Thus, as a solution for the replacement of the cylinder liner the compressed air can be used a means for the pneumatic movement of the cylinder. It could be more useful and handful.
A cylinder liner sleeve extractor has four legs having flange legs at its bottom and which are connected by four pivotally mounted pivot arms. The arms are pivotally connected to a central hub, the arrangement of which forces the lower ends of the legs outwardly when the hub is manually moved downwardly. In operation, the legs are inserted into the cylinder so that its lower ends are below the lower end of the casing sleeve. The hub is then pressed downward, forcing the lower ends of the legs outwardly until the flange legs are directly below the casing sleeve. A cat carrier plate having spaced holes for the legs is then passed over the legs and rests on the engine block. A hydraulic jack is placed on the support plate, and a top plate is attached to the upper legs. When the jack is activated, the plunger pushes the top plate upward, causing a corresponding upward movement of the legs, thereby eliminating the liner sleeve. In one embodiment, an elastic band surrounds the legs at a level below the pivot arms, providing additional stability in operation.
